How do you use online dating sites?

I am a guy and have never used an online dating site but decided to sign up for a Christian dating web site. Im just wondering what is the best way to approach a girl on most sites without looking desperate or like a stalker? Should I wink/smile or whatever the thing is on the site and see if they seek me out or just email them off the bat? and if I email them off the bat what do i say? how do i initiate it? thanks!

2. Just send them a message, everyone is their for dating, so sending messages is completely normal. Be prepared though, just like it is in real life, most of your messages will get deleted, and even less messages of the ones you send will actually lead to dates
3. look that Christian dating web site suck high heaven.really,i had tried it for a 1yr and no luck at all.The guys on there wanted more sex than to have a real Long Term Relationship.and that really suck to find guys on those site.say no to those suck site and go to church to met a real person.I had email this guy for a 1/2 yr to find out that i was emailing to a women who had use her brother photo. Hell no, i was piss and mad that i had wasted 1/2 emailing to a woman and not a guy.a woman pretend to be a guy.yeah you will find a lot of loser,cheater and liar on there.
