What do you think about online dating?

I would like to start dating again, and I dont go into clubs to much anymore. I dont want to meet no man in a club so I was told to look into online dating, really not sure what to think about it has anybody tried it?

1. I wouldn't because I kind of don't trust anyone.
2. Online dating sites rarely seem to really work. I met my fiancée online twelve years ago, but not on a dating website; we were both young and on a Harry Potter fansite and started talking through there. A few years later I moved to NYC and we started dating after being the best of friends for two years. Obviously, it worked out well for me, but I wasn't on an online dating site. The people I know who've tried to use those sites usually find they're filled with mostly idiots.
3. I havent tried online dating, but talking to people online usually just adds up to them asking if you have webcam! which really, really, annoys me! >=[

5. I guess by everyone else's responses I lucked out. I met two great guys last year who I don't date anymore, but are still good friends. I guess you have to know really what your looking for. Not in terms of looks, characteristics, or facts, but knowing when someone see you for who you really are and makes you happy to be you. Good Luck!
6. Online dating is the fastest and best way to meet new singles. Go out there and meet some people in a public place-a coffee or a beer. Be a little bit bold and u will have the time of your life meeting people online! Liz
7. Online dating has been increasing at a very high rate as more and more people are finding the 'bar scene' not an option. You can find profiles of singles near you according to age, hobbies, education and other interests. This might be a better option where you can contact more people than traditional matchmaking.
