i have an adult dating agency (hornymatches.com) in my IE favorites folder and I don't know how it got there?
Could spyware or adware have placed this in my favorites and has anyone else experienced this?

- If you are concerned about spyware, download Spybot Search & Destroy available at http://www.safer-networking.org/ . I would also remove the website from your Favorites if it is bothering you.
- No, I haven't experienced this, but most likely it's some sort of malware, so just delete the link from your favorites and then scan your computer with Windows Defender, Ad-Aware 2007, or some other free (or paid) spyware scanner.
- what else you know these kind of sites they are just looking for a way to get in your life
- Yes. If you are worried that a family member possibly saved it to favorites because they frequently visit that website. It is actually unlikely. Even the average user (who would secretly visit such a site whether it be child, husband neighbor etc...) wouldn't be stupid enough to actually add it to favorites while trying to hide it. Yes adware all the time can add favorites to nasty sites, add the same sites to sites visited in the address bar, and cause pop ups to nasty websites. I have worked with many virus/spyware infected computer, and 80% of the spyware I have seen causes these exact issues. Yes it would be spyware. If you are using windows xp I recommend downloading and running this program. It is free and very strong in removal and blocking of spyware. You can use it to remove spyware then uninstall it, or you can remove the spyware and keep it so future spyware/adware will be blocked :). http://www.download.com/ZeroSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10548624.html?tag=lst-3 NOTE: Program does not work on Windows VISTA, it works on only xp or below. I recommend installing it, updating it, running a full scan, then removing anything it finds, then just un-install the program. I recommend that because even though its nice to have a spyware blocking program, they are all a bit heavy on memory usage. Also the users comment above about Spybot is good advice.
- I do not think this is software that did this (spyware or adware). Probably someone who has been using your pc. You can download a trial from this site: http://www.free-registry-cleaners.biz/anti-spyware-software-reviews/ to be sure you have no spyware on your pc.
