I'm thinking of joining a dating agency but I'm scared. Any advice?
I could remember the old 'lonely ad column' in Britain which someone told me was for mainly rapists and murderers. I still see dating agencies in the same light but I'm also convinced that I'm wrong. Could you please advise me on the safest way to meet people safely or ways of checking that they are who they claim they are.

- there are a lot of sites that are free and you are pretty much on your own. there are also sites that cost money but they go through a very rigorous interview process in order to pair up couples properly.
- Nothing is safe my friend just got ripped on eharmony she met a guy and needless to say it was a scam and he bilked her out of thousands of dollars after she thought everything was alright and they were going to get married- he had a little boy sent pictures he was a vet doing charity work abroad- oh yeh he was slick and she fell for it hook line and sinker. I know it is hard to be alone and want companionship but now days it beats the alternative of what can happen. Try going to church and meeting people with good values not to bars people need to not be so desperate for friendship that they don't see what could happen ( and does) unfortunately this world has gone down hill and you can't be to careful. Maybe volunteer and you may meet a better class of people?? but then again predictors pray on needy people and they look in places like that also because they know you have a tender heart and are vulnerable . It is scary to say the least. I'm so sorry I'm so negative but now days I have seen so much and it makes you very protective and rightly so. Good luck to you.
- My advice is the majority of them are freaks who are very different in person to what you expect. The best bit of advice i can offer is only ever meet for coffee and preferable while it is still light or in a public place. That way you can make an excuse to leave after half an hour. Never do dinner as you can't escape fast enough. And not a good idea to drink because you dont want to wake up next to the serial killer the next morning.
