Why is online dating so popular?

There is enough ppl in everyday surroundings that put on "airs" I couldn't see myself becoming involve with someone online who could be any of the 300million ppl out there I could be a 46yrs asian woman. Its hard enough to trust anyone period but you have ppl who would take their chances with any of the millions of ppl online

1. I hate online dating it never lasts. Only like a few percentage or so but seriously.
2. So people can lie over the internet rather than lie in person.
3. some people find dating akward face to face.. but if you think about it internet dating is soo much akawarder (hehe) but your talknig with total strangers and to tell you the truth i dont know why its so popular..

5. Sometimes love just happens online. You arent looking for it...you just accidentally find it. I met my significant other on line about 3 years ago. We took it really slow just to see where things would lead. We now live together and have a 5 month old son. Neither of us was looking...it just happened. Online dating sometimes takes the tension of the "Bar" scene out of the equation. Online romance can be great...but it can also be dangerous...there are alot of fruit loops out there so if you decide to try it...be carefule!
