On Line Dating Services Knowledge Base
Are there any free gay on-line dating services in Canada? There are quite a few for sex such as squirt.org, but it appears that those for friendship or relationship charge a fee for viewing a profile and sending messages. It's not that I don't want to pay, but I don't want to use my credit card on-line with these websites. Anyone knows some gay dating sites in Canada that are absolutely free? I can't find any.
What have been your experiences with on-line dating services? I've spoke to some people who have had some very interesting stories about their on-line dating experiences: their good and strange meetings both on-line and in person with people they've met, their problems with the dating sites, etc. What stories do you have? Many people have stories that would be great to share with others. Some stories are encouraging. Some stories are a warning to us all. lol
Are on-line dating services narcissitic? I've considered using those on-line dating services that match you with your ideal mate. Does anyone else think that our perfect match isn't necessarily someone who answers the same questions like we do? I mean, don't opposites attract and balance each other? I'm curious because I've just gotten out of a 5 year relationship and am wondering what I am honestly looking for. Thanks!
On-line dating services (a success or what?)? I've been debating about signing up for an online dating service. Something simple, maybe through Yahoo. I'm not the type of female to go chasing after guys, and though I'm looking, I don't usually frequent single locations like bars or clubs. Have you had success or not with online dating? Got an opinion, or story to tell. I'm looking for some feed back from people who have used on-line dating services. Drop an answer here!
Do you believe those on-line dating services work? Im only asking becuase i think they might, I met my boyfriend through true.com weve been together for 4 months, and things are great. People are kind of shock to know were both 20 and met on an on-line matching personality service. I want to know if other people have met on line. or if you think it can work? oh and if people are wondering, no were not a internet couple, haha, we see each other every other day. like a real couple :D
What are a few good free of charge on line dating services? I have tried Plenty of Fish. I didn't get any dates out of that site. Then I tried OK Cupid and I did go out on dates with couple of women on that site. But I have worn out my welcome at OK Cupid and now it's been the same people for months. Can you suggest any other on line dating sites? Also I am looking for free services. I just registered for eharmony and it was a waste of time because I have to subscribe to a charged service to see people's profiles.
Do men expect that women they meet on on-line dating services will sleep with them right away? A friend told me that someone told her that she shouldn't be looking for men on Match.com because she's not willing to sleep with someone until she's in a committed relationship. He told her that if she had put that on her profile no one would have contacted her. Do most men assume that women they meet on-line will have sex with them right away. Is that mainly what most men are looking for when they go to on-line dating sites? Just curious.
On line dating services, what am I doing wrong? My first question here, although I answer a lot of them.? I'm a 52 y.o. divorced woman, and I recently signed up on a well known and respected online dating service. After I submitted the profile, they matched me with 12 men, all older than I. We didn't receive pictures on this first contact, just the basic info. (I'm well-educated, professionally employed, reasonably normal, no deal-breakers there.) Ten of them immediately cancelled the match without contacting me because it "didn't fit their parameters." OK, I was a little hurt, but went to a few of their profiles to see what I didn't "fit." They all listed that they wanted women no older than 40! (Some said 35!) I couldn't believe it! These guys were my age or older than ME, and I'm too old?!? The only two matches that were interested were in their late sixties. So, my question to all of you - you think it's a waste of time to do this online? (Mickey V., I know you'll tell me!) Ironically, I'm considered very attractive, but don't have alot of time in real life to meet men. You guys are the BEST! I feel better already. And Mickey, I live in NY state, not NYC (unfortunately.) UP-state....like Albany upstate.....(now you see my problem, grin!) And he's right about the books, folks, I am a graduate student with a hectic and full schedule, that's why I tried the online dating, but I will try it in person again. Thank you all - the Answers community at its best! Gratefully, Kate
Any good free on line dating services? I am a 47 year old recently divorce male. I have been using Plenty of Fish recommended to me by a female friend where I work. She has met guys through POF but nothing for me. There are mostly women half my age on there and my inbox says "message read, deleted" on most of my friend requests or simply "unread"on the rest. I must be too old for the girls I am sending invites to. Are there any free dating sites for people my age. Maybe a divorced woman, single mom dating, or a professional woman too busy to date and her biological time clock is telling her she needs to find romance. I tried Yahoo Dating and when it said something about subscribe it's a paid site so I unsubscribed. Any good dating sites for a guy like me?
Has anyone had success with on-line dating services? Does anyone think it's really worth the exorbitant fees? I'm a single mom so I can only really plan a weekend out, with certainty, maybe 1 weekend a month. I work and take care of my daughter so I usually don't have time during the week to meet up to have coffee or whatever. Do you think it would be worth paying the fees to 'maybe' meet someone? Anyone have any success/failure stories to share? thanks!
Does anyone out there have a favorite on-line dating service or place? I was thinking about posting on Craig's list. I have never done anything like that and in the past thought it was for the lonely only. But special friend of mine who is too far away for us to date any longer has found someone, that she has not met yet, but who she has fallen for. Wondering if the same could be true for me?

Guy I've been dating is still active on on-line dating service. Does this mean he isn't really interested? We have been dating for a few months now and just recently, a friend of mine mentioned that he was back on the website and active. We see each other about 3 times a week, and have a wonderful time together. I am just concerned that I might be wasting my time and he isn't really that interested. I am getting very close to this man and am afraid that if I continue I'll just get hurt. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
If you decided to join an on-line dating service...? If you decided to join an on-line dating service, would you expect the potential 'dates' to be honest, or would you assume they are all full of sh*t until they prove you wrong (men or women doesnt matter). Or would you just go into it and just play it by ear with no expectations?
Anyone know a decent on-line dating service? I've tried a variety of dating sites online over the past few years (such as eharmony, yahoo, match, matchdoctor, and christian cafe). It seems like its all the same users on almost all of the sites and some I've tried contacting but don't they respond. I am looking for a dating site that is legit and where the people are quality professionals. I do not want to waste my time trying to hook up with someone only to find out that they don't have a job and live with their mother. If anyone knows of an internet site that fits the bill, please tell me about it! I look forward to checking it out. Thanks!
On-line dating? I would like the opinion of both males and females regarding on-line dating services. One very well-known one, in particular, is advertised on TV. I always see the “happy ending” on this commercial. I’d like to know about people’s experiences with it. On-line dating seems to be the trend, but I am skeptical. I’d like to hear about the “downside” of on-line dating. Thanks, your honesty is appreciated.

I would like to find an on-line dating service where the men are attracted to big women? I am 49 years old, about 250 lbs., have light brown - layered hair just down to my bra line, blue-ish eyes and am looking for someone who really wants an honest, trustworthy, relationship. I like to watch football, go fishing, play pool, go camping, ride motorcycles (if you have one - even better - I don't), watch movies, do gardening, etc. I am living with my parents right now because I lost everything in a past relationship and I am trying to get back on my feet again. I am a fun-loving woman who wants the same in a fun-loving, honest, dependable guy. Not much to ask for is it?
On Line Dating Service - HELP...Am I being played? Hi. I met this guy on a dating line. We clicked right away and have chatting almost every night for 4-5 hours. We met. For some reason, we got into an argument. He wanted to cool it off. I heard from him off and on within a two week period. Now, he contacted me by phone and wants to start over. We have started over, but, he is not IM'ing with me any longer...only 1 night he did it for 5 hours. He is still on the dating site and still receiving and answering his mail. Yet, he says he wants to try again. Is he playing a game with me or not? I asked him if he was and he told me no. He says he always answers everyone who emails him since it is the polite thing to do. He calls me everyday, but, that is when he is driving home for an hour. To me, he is probably killing time. Is this guy playing me? I need help.
